What the scanner is
As of January 2026, this project uses a custom Minecraft protocol scanner.
It performs a standard server status request to read publicly available information such as server version, MOTD, and player counts.
Then a minimal login-start probe is sent to observe how the server responds in order to determine whether it appears to be running in online mode, offline mode, or whitelist mode.
No real player session is established and the connection is closed immediately after the response is received.
Behavior in server logs
- Opens a short TCP connection
- Sends a Minecraft status request
- Sends a minimal login-start packet
- Disconnects immediately
If your logs show a brief connection from popiiumaa,
this is expected scanner behavior.
Data storage
The bot stores server IPs in this API:
https://mcapi.shit.vc/docs/
This is used to track/check whitelist availability. If you want your IP removed, see the opt-out section below.
What it does NOT do
- No world interaction or gameplay
- No authentication or account login
- No exploit or vulnerability scanning
- No chat messages or advertising
- No password guessing or brute force
This project is intended strictly for server status and whitelist detection.
IP removal / opt-out
If you own or manage a server and want your IP removed from the scanner:
- Join the Discord:
discord.gg/AYbDNEWgHE - Open a removal request ticket
- Provide your server IP and proof of ownership
All removal requests are respected and handled as quickly as possible.
